Dominican Mission for Vocation Support (MVS)

The Dominican Mission for Vocation Support (MVS) is a fund that has been initiated to support the formation of the Dominican brothers in training for religious life and priesthood. It takes 10 to 11 years to train a student up to ordination.

Our Appeal

MVS is making an appeal to people of goodwill to support the formation of Dominican brothers in Eastern Africa. We have a total of 27 Brothers. One can support a student in formation for any number of years (1, 2, 3, etc.), 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, one week or any amount.

St. Dominic instituted the Order of Preachers as a“mendicant order,” calling on the friars to beg for the support of their ministry. Your financial donation enables our preaching, allowingour friars in initial formation to receive the training they need to be preachers of the Gospel, and supporting our older friars who have given their lives to the Church.

Our fundraising effortsare led by the Dominican Friars Development Office, which is an initiative of the Vicariate of Eastern Africa, under the direction of Father Raphael Pio Gitonga, O.P.
